Beyoncé premiered her visual album, “Lemonade” this past Saturday on HBO to almost one million viewers.
The visual album is eligible for an Emmy, and HBO confirmed Monday its plans to submit “Lemonade” for consideration in the Variety Special category.
Kahlil Joseph and Beyoncé are listed as directors on the visual album credits. Melina Matsoukas, Todd Tourso, Dikayl Rimmasch, Jonas Akerlund and Mark Romanek are credited as “additional directors.” It’s unclear who will be submitted for Emmy consideration.
E! News notes voting on the nominations will take place June 13 – June 27 at 10 p.m. PT. Nominations for the 67th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards and the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced live during a press conference July 14th.
The 2016 Creative Arts Emmy Awards will be held over two nights, on Sept. 10th and Sept. 11, 2016, while Jimmy Kimmel will host the 2016 Emmys at L.A.’s Microsoft Theater on Sept. 18, 2016.
Beyoncé previously received two Emmy nominations, for her Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show in 2013 and for the “On the Run Tour” concert special with Jay Z, Variety reports.
