If you follow Oprah on social media, you know by now…the mogul loves cooking! Browse her Instagram, and you’ll get an occasional behind-the-scenes look at what she’s pulling from her veggie garden, and what she’s preparing for dinner. Well now, Oprah is sharing those tasty, healthy recipes with the world with her new cookbook “Food, Health and Happiness: ‘On Point’ Recipes for Great Meals and a Better Life.”
The Associated Press shared the announcement on Wednesday, noting that Oprah’s cookbook will be published under her own imprint, which is currently unnamed.
It was announced in 2015 that Oprah landed her own publishing imprint with Flatiron Books, a division of Macmillan. Her memoir, The Life You Want, was set to be the first book released under her imprint. However, with the success of Oprah’s 2016 Weight Watchers campaign, her love for cooking, and her joy in the healthy-eating journey, it seems the timing is perfect for the multi-faceted fortunista to share her favorite recipes with the world.
Oprah shared her inspiration behind the cookbook in a statement:
“In the past several months on Weight Watchers, I have worked with wonderful chefs to make healthier versions of my favorite meals,” Winfrey said in a statement. “When people come to my house for lunch or dinner, the number one thing they ask is, ‘How is this so delicious and still healthy?’ So I decided to answer that question with recipes everyone can enjoy.”
“Food, Health and Happiness: ‘On Point’ Recipes for Great Meals and a Better Life” is set to release January 2017.
